Planned Giving
Consider the benefits of Planned Gifts as you prepare for the future. The best gift plans can assist your financial and tax situation today and support Roseville Arts tomorrow. Planned gifts can also reduce estate taxes for those who face such taxation.
LIFE INCOME GIFTS
Life Income Gifts, such as Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts, allow you (and/or another beneficiary, if you wish) to receive a lifetime income from the investment of the assets you donate. These gifts can also be very flexible.
ESTATE GIFTS
Estate Gifts provide support to Roseville Arts after your lifetime. Through Bequests by Will or Living Trusts, the value of a gift by bequest is deductible from the value of the estate. Bequests may be unrestricted or designated to a particular purpose, and may consist of a dollar amount or the value remaining after other obligations are met. Bequests may also be made contingent upon another event occurring, such as a spouse or other beneficiary predeceasing you.
We advise you to work with your attorney and financial advisors to plan the charitable arrangement most advantageous to your estate. If you have already included Roseville Arts as a beneficiary of your will, please let us know so that we can recognize your generosity.
RETIREMENT PLAN ASSETS
You can create an excellent legacy gift by naming Roseville Arts as a beneficiary of your Individual Retirement Plans (IRA), 403(b), 401(k), Keogh, or other qualified pension plan. This can usually be accomplished by completing the appropriate beneficiary forms provided by the plan's administrator.
ENDOWMENTS
An Endowed Gift is both a gift for the future and a gift for today. By establishing an endowed fund or adding to an existing one, you receive tax benefits as well as ensure that the principal of your gift is maintained in perpetuity for a project of particular interest to you. At the same time, a portion of the income generated by the principal of your gift is distributed annually to support Roseville Arts programs.
Unrestricted income from endowments is used to support critical operations, including funds for exhibitions and educational outreach. You may designate a special-purpose endowment fund in consultation with Roseville Artsí management.
OTHER POSSIBILITIES
You may designate a specific amount to Roseville Arts before dividing the remainder among family beneficiaries. Roseville Arts would be named as beneficiary of all or part of the balance remaining after your spouse's or another beneficiary's lifetime.
Donors should note that any distribution from these plans during their lifetimes will be deemed as taxable income, even if the distribution is to a qualified charity. Similarly, donors will not avoid income tax by transferring the entire plan to charity during their lifetime. Income tax is avoided only if the plan is distributed to a charity after the donor's lifetime through beneficiary designation or a specific bequest in the donor's estate plans.
Roseville Arts management can refer you to qualified planners who can help you create a plan that suits your personal circumstances and combines philanthropic giving with your financial needs and tax planning.
