Blue Line Arts in Roseville California is partnering up with SAQA to have their Northern California/Northern Nevada members participate in an exhibition highlighting art quilts in our WestPark Workshop Gallery.
Juror: Merle Axelrad
Artist Merle Axelrad’s fabric collages are in numerous public, corporate, and private collections including those of the Ritz-Carlton, Kaiser Permanente, the University of California at Davis Medical Center, and the California Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, her work was featured in exhibitions at museums and galleries, including the Dennos Art Museum in Traverse City, Michigan; the California State Museum in Sacramento; and Entrée Libre in New York City.

July 15, 2013........................................................Deadline for unsold work to be picked up or shipped to artist (must provide prepaid Fedex shipping label). Artist will be charged $25 per day for any artwork not picked up by July 18, 2013.
Entering the Show
Eligibility:
- Open to members of SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) only. Click Here to become a member.
- Work cannot have been exhibited previously at the Blue Line.
- All work must be ready to hang, and must have an integral wire to hang directly and securely on the wall.
- Size limitations –36" wide x 60" tall. 3-d work will be accepted, but will have to fit on a 24" pedestal. Any work not meeting this requirement will not be considered; work that has been accepted but does not meet this requirement will not be displayed.
Submitting Entries:
- $30 for first 3 pieces (6 total -3 full images and 3 details images); $5 each additional entry.
- Enter Online at http://rosevillearts.org/exhibits/calls.html Select “Call to Artists” in drop-down menu under “Exhibits.” Follow instructions above gray box to create a log-in. Access step-by-step PDF instructions.
Then Select “SAQA Show ” in list of exhibits to enter your information, load images and pay your fee before midnight, April 19th 2013.
- NOTE - Save your images as JPG/JPEG files. Size should be 6" at 300ppi (1800 pixels) on the longest side.Title your images as follows: Lastname_Firstname_Title, i.e., Smith_Allison_Peony.jpg (no spaces in the file name, please.) Title your detail image as: Lastname_Firstname_Title_Detail, i.e., Smith_Allison_Peony_Detail.jpg.
Shipping: Shipping is the responsibility of the artist and must include a prepaid FedEx shipping label or the piece will not be return shipped. Shipped work must arrive at the Gallery no later than 3pm on Friday May 31st, 2013.
Insurance: Artist is in charge of insurance while artwork is in transit to/from gallery. Artwork is insured while at the Gallery.
Sales: The Blue Line Arts handles all sales and retains 40% commission for member artists, 50% for non-members. Membership information is available click here. Non-members may join at the artist level at any time.
