Art Deco Reimagined

The Sacramento Art Deco Society (SADS) and the Blue Line Arts in Roseville, California, are partnering to hold a juried show of contemporary art inspired by the Art Deco period. The show will include pieces that reflect the myriad of styles from the Art Deco period, including: Zigzag Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, Machine Age and the German Bauhaus. SADS and the Blue Line Arts are anticipating submittals will include pieces highly reflective of the period, as well as art that stretches the boundaries of what we consider traditionally the Art Deco style.

Providing visual contrast to the juried items will be vintage Art Deco artifacts such as pottery, clothing, housewares and furniture that will be displayed throughout the Coker Family Gallery.

Blue Line Arts is excited with Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) in an exhibition to highlight art quilts from SAQA members in the Northern California and Northern Nevada regions. We were honored to have juror Merle Axelrad, whose fabric collages are in numerous public, corporate, and private collections, including those of the Ritz Carleton and Kaiser Permanente.
