Join the fun with a class from our art experts at Blue Line Arts!

All classes must be paid in full prior to class date.

City of Roseville Summer Art Classes at Blue Line Arts (June 2013- August 2013)

 

After-hours care: We will now be offering after-hours care from 3pm-6pm after camp only each day. The cost is $25 for all 3 hours for members and $29 for non-members. Please indicate on your registration form the day for after-hours care.

 

All Kinds of Art: Music

Ages: 6-13

Camp Session 1: June 17-June 21

Camp Session 2: June 24-June 28*

*All performances and activities will be different from those in the first session. 

Feel the beat and move your feet in this music filled camp! You’ll listen to a range

of music from the Fenix Drum and Dance Company, the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra, and Latin American Magic and participate in musical performances, dances, and visual art projects inspired by what you hear. ReCreate will also be joining us to lead instructions about how  to create your own musical instruments using recycled materials so you can perform to your very own beat! Get ready to move and groove!

All Kinds of Art: Performance

Ages: 6-13

Camp Session 3: July 8-July 12  

 

If stage-based performance is what you seek, then this camp is for you! You’lll be

able to take center stage in different theater performances through the Roseville

Theater Arts Academy as well as create art projects based on theater concepts.

Students will explore a range of performance styles and have the chance to create

their own props and puppets to use in their own productions!

Artistic Architects

Ages: 6-13

Camp Session 4: July 15-19    

      

Be the architect of your own awesomely artistic life-sized town! Create and

build your town using a variety of art materials, then bring it to life by filming

a stop-motion movie, starring characters made by you!

Awesome Animals

Ages: 5-11

Camp Session 5: July 22-26        

 

It’ll be a zoo in here! At least, we’ll be making a zoo for all of the awesome animals

you’ll be creating! We’re partnering with ReCreate for this week-long camp,

all about animals. Every morning, you’ll be creating all kinds of animals out of

recycled materials, then in the afternoon, we’ll explore different art styles to

create more animals!

Half day options available for this camp:

Play with Paint

Ages 5-11

Camp Session 6: July 29-Aug 2

 

Join us for a week-long camp where we find different ways to play with paint.

You’re sure to get a little messy as we paint with our hands, splatter paint on

a canvas a la Jackson Pollock, and use tools other than paint brushes to make

mini masterpieces!

Workshop: Sparkle and Shine: Jewelry 101

Ages: 7-13 July 15-July 19, 10-11:30am       

If you love jewelry or if you have ever thought about becoming a jewelry designer,

then this workshop is for you! You’ll be able to create your own beads and charms, construct headbands and hair clips, and explore a range of necklace styles and

materials in this week-long workshop. Get ready to make your own collection of

wearable art!


Instructor: Kate Tresidder

Kate graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from CSULB and is currently working on

getting her teaching credential. She previously taught a jewelry making workshop at

Blue Line Arts, where students created beautiful and inspired jewelry.

Instructor: Kate Tresidder

Workshop: Cartoon Drawing

Ages: 7-13 July 22-July 26, 10am-12pm       

 

Create cartoon characters in the Japanese Anime style. You’ll learn all it takes to

create an amazing Anime cartoon: figure proportions, facial expressions, movements,

and perspective. This workshop is for those just starting out at drawing and those

who would like to continue to grow their drawing skills.


Instructor: Wilhelm Chung

Wilhelm is currently studying mathematics at CSUS and has taught numerous

workshops at Blue Line Arts. Most recently, he lead “Amazing Anime,” where

students learned how to build onto previously conceptualized Anime characters.

Workshop: Little Hands Photography: Photography Basics

Ages: 6-13 August 5-August 9, 10am-12pm   

 

Try your hand at being a master photographer in this workshop that gives you the basics on photography terminology and how to use a digital camera. You’ll be able

to explore our surroundings and snap your own professional photos! * Students

must provide digital camera.


Instructor: Maria Christie Dickerson

Maria has had extensive experience teaching children about photography, with

over a decade of professional experience in the field of photography. She has

worked for Mayor Kevin Johnson’s For Art Sake initiative, as an arts education

provider with Any Given Child as well as heading the “Day in the Life” art project.

This will be her first workshop at Blue Line Arts.

Refund & Cancellation Policies: Classes may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment . Participants will be notified one week before and recieve full refund if this occurs. A refund of 50% of the registration fee will be granted to participants who cancel at least 14 days before start of class.
