Endowment: The June Wanish Fund for the Arts
ENDOWMENT HISTORY
An evening reception was held on June 19, 2003 to honor June Wanish for her forty plus years of service to the Roseville Community. The reception was attended by a large contingency of long time Roseville Arts members and supporters, current and former City of Roseville officials, and Mrs. Wanish's family members.
Former Roseville Mayor Mel Hamel paid tribute to June's many accomplishments followed by current Mayor Pro Temp Gina Garbolino who completed her presentation by reading a declaration from the City of Roseville proclaiming June 19th as June Wanish Day.
Speaking on behalf of the Roseville Arts Board of Directors, Vice President Paul McKenna announced the establishment of The June Wanish Fund for the Arts. McKenna presented a plaque to Mrs. Wanish and stated that the fund has been established "to encourage and support the enjoyment, appreciation and growth of the arts in our communities". The community was invited to contribute to this fund. |
